Swacch Vidyalaya

Issue- Swacch Vidlaya is the national campaign driving ‘Clean India: Clean Schools’. A key feature of the campaign is to ensure that every school in India has a set of functioning and well maintained water-, sanitation- and hygiene facilities. However, even after establishment of the infrastructure and institution, operation, maintenance and sustainable adoption to behavior change pose a glaring challenge to achieve the desired objectives.

Dharmalife solution
To add value to the existing government guidelines Dharmalife proposes to create a “sustainable behavior change model” by establishing a hygienic and protective environment for every child to learn and grow without barriers. The program objectives are as follows:
• Institutional strengthening and regular usage of WASH facilities
• Sustainable Habit Formation
• Innovative, culturally driven, localized programs
• Establish Enabling Environment Involving Parents, Family & Panchayat
• Community Ownership

Geography: Jharkhand, Gujarat and Uttrakhand

Impact:
The project will be executed under Govt. of Jharkhand’s Smart Panchayat Campaign. A detailed action plan has been created for execution.
